Final resting place of Jules Mazarin (1601-1661), founder of the college of Four Nations at the Institute. An wonderful sculpture group supporting a sarcophagus directly beneath the dome.

During the Revolution of 1789 Mazarin's ashes were reportedly removed form the tomb and scattered along the street outside.
