The city's main botanical garden and natural museums are also the final resting place for three famous French scientists: the remains of botanist Guy de la Brosse (1586-1641) is in the vestibule of the Zoology galleries, naturalist Georges-Louis Buffon's (1707-1788) brain is interred in the base of the large statue in the gardens), and naturalist Louis Daubenton (1716-1799) has a column rising up over his remains.

Entrance
Two main entrances: one off of rue Geoffroy Saint-Hillaire and the other off of Quai Saint-Bernard.
