Located in a largely residential section of the 13th arrondissement at the southern edge of historic Paris, Gentilly is nestled right alongside the peripherique ring road around the city.

Nevertheless, Gentilly is a pleasant place for an afternoon stroll and has several fascinating sculptures as well, such as the occultist "Zouave Jacob" (right)

Directions: Located at 5 Rue Sainte-Helene in the 13th arrondissement. Take the no. 7 metro to Porte d'Italie and look for Blvd Kellermann as you exit the metro. Follow the blvd several blocks to rue Gouthiere and turn left, a block on it becomes rue Sainte-Helene and the cemetery entrance is at no. 5 on your right.

Alternatively, as you exit the metro you can cut through Parc Kellermann, crossing Poterne des Peupliers and look for rue Saint-Helene.

Entrances: only one on rue Saint-Helene.

Hours:

From November 6-March 15

  • Monday-Friday: 8:00-5:30 p.m.
    Saturday: 8:30-5:30
    Sunday and holidays: 9:00-5:30 p.m.

From March 16-November 5

  • Monday-Friday: 8:00-6:00 p.m.
    Saturday: 8:30-6:00 p.m.
    Sunday and holidays: 9:00-6:00p.m.

Note that cemeteries, like the parks of Paris are always closed during high wind alerts.

Facilities: The conservation office in to the right of the entrance. The WC is around and to the rear of the office.
