Saint Vincent cemetery

St. Vincent's cemetery is often overlooked by the casual tourist eager to explore the wonders of nearby Montmartre. Opened in 1831 and located on the backside of the butte on which sits Sacre Coeur, the 1.5 acre cemetery contains both flights of fancy and whimsy. On the right you'll see a photo of the stone marking the grave of Papoue and Platon Argyriades, a young couple forever peering out from behind the curtain of their modest home, wondering "who is it at the door?"
