The French Tart Pastries

A little lunder two acres in size, Auteuil cemetery is the final resting place for French director Abel Gance, painter Hubert Robert, opera composer Charles Gounod, and Benjamin Thompson (Count Rumford), an American physician whose wife, Lavoisier's widow, is buried in Pere-Lachaise.

Directions
Located at 57 rue Claude-Lorrain 75016. The nearest metro stop is Exelmans on the no. 9 line. After exiting the metro take rue Michel Ange south, away from Blvd. Exelmans. Follow the higher numbers, and it's just a two- or three-minute walk to rue Claude-Lorrain. Turn left, and the cemetery entrance is a short 50 meters on your right.

Entrance
Only one at 57 Claude-Lorrain.

Facilities
Small conservation building to the right of the entrance. The one bathroom is also to the right as you enter the cemetery, directly behind the conservator's office.

Hours
Cemetery hours are standardized throughout the city. Visit the Information page.
